About
Megan Rooney works with a variety of media - including painting, sculpture, installation, performance and language - to develop intertwined narratives. The body is a recurring element in her work, as both the subjective starting point and the final site for the sedimentation of experiences explored through her practice. She addresses the myriad effects of politics and society that manifest in the home and in the female body. The subjects of her works are drawn directly from her life and environment, while her references are deeply anchored in the present moment.
Megan Rooney was born in 1987 in Canada. Graduated from the University of Toronto and Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2011, she lives and works in London. Her recent exhibitions include: Bones Roots Fruits at Thaddaeus Ropac (London, England), Sweet Lies.
